LinkerD’s documentation seems to suggest there is a way to mesh GCE ingress controller ( [docs](https://linkerd.io/2.12/tasks/using-ingress/#gce)). But in our GKE setup, the built-in ingress controller does not seem to have pods.

- Does this mean LinkerD actually doesn’t work with GKE setup with the default ingress controller?
- Does anybody have experience / suggestions how to mesh ingress with GKE cluster?

[This issue](https://github.com/linkerd/linkerd2/discussions/7764) seems to run into the same situation.
